what i’ve read recently // back in my hardbacks era (part 1)

I am already nearly halfway through the next lot of books and am finally doing this post. Truly getting it to the wire, for no reason aside from laziness. This post takes me up to my 199th book of the year, which is just insane. My current reading spurt is so fun but really ruining my ability to do anything else. I am really getting my hardbacks down though, which is just so nice to see. Ramble over, here are the books. Continue reading “what i’ve read recently // back in my hardbacks era (part 1)”

pink books i’ve read recently (part 2): colour coded reads

I have been on a major reading kick as of late and just churning books out super frequently. Which is great and so fun, but it does mean that my memory of the books is kind of spotty and some of these books I read like 3 weeks before writing this so my memory of them is spotty. I really have to work out a new system so this doesn’t happen. Besides that, these books are great and there is a real mix here of genres and forms. It’s a lot of fun. reading my random trade paperbacks (part 1)

I had a shelf and a bit of trade paperbacks that I just wasn’t reading. So I decided to rectify that. They’re a real mix of genres and form.  Most of which I haven’t kept which is good for my book storage. There are a few re-reads here (that aren’t trade books) too which is not something I do often but I was in a mood. Continue reading “reading my random trade paperbacks (part 1)”

blue books i’ve read recently (part 1) // colour coded reads

The stack of blue books on my bedroom floor was so big that it fell over. My parents thought I fell down, the noise was so loud. So it’s about time that I got to it. There is a real range of genres here, and this is just a fraction of the blue books I had. I read all these between the 28th January and the 11th of February, which is insane even for me. There are 25 books here. Continue reading “blue books i’ve read recently (part 1) // colour coded reads”

european books i’ve read recently (part 2)

The second part of the run of European written and set novels. I chose this theme to read Holocaust novels in the run up to the 27th, which passed on the second to last day of this window. This was a rally interesting period, but I am happy to be out of it now and have some variance in what I read again. This was a very serious month reading wise. And long, there are 40 books in these two posts. That’s kind of insane. And I remember reading like 35 of them which is really good just statistically. european books i’ve read recently (part 1)

My targeted reading thing is continuing into 2024. We’ll see how long I last with it, but I’ve become so accustomed to reading in this way and it’s been serving me pretty well so far. Here are the  first 15 European books I’ve read this year. I am going with the nationality of the writer, and the setting of the book. As in both have to be European for it to qualify. yellow books i’ve read recently (part 2) // colour coded reads

20 of my last 25 books for 2023. I ended the year as I started it; with yellow books. A total accident but very fun one I realised. There was a major rush to get these all done before the end of the year and meet my target. But I did it with time to spare which was great. And I only have 2 yellow books unread in my collection. christmas books i’ve read recently

I have never deliberately read Christmas books at Christmas, and being a bookshop manager that feels like a minor crime. I decided to change that, and looked through my collection for just 5 Christmas books I had to get me into the festive spirit (it’s quite lucky I had them to read honestly).  Here are my thoughts on the books, in both the order I read them and luckily an increasing level of Christmas-ness.
