my favourite songs from each episode of glee (season 3 and 4)

I am telling you now, this is going to be a Santana, Marley and Blaine love fest. Like direct competition between them to see whose solo I liked more that episode, unless that episode has a solo by someone from The Glee Project, in which case they win. I love season 3 a lot, I am pretty neutral about season 4. It marks the start of ‘all the songs suck’ territory.. Continue reading “my favourite songs from each episode of glee (season 3 and 4)”

beauty replacements i’m going to make and some products i want to try

Here’s a collection of some beauty replacements I want to make soon (products I’m about to finish and what I’m replacing them with) as well as a few odd products that have found themselves on my radar. I’m very much out of my makeup phase right now and have lost interest in it greatly, but there are still things I’d like and products that would make my non-makeup phase a lot easier right now. my january 2023 favourites

2023 will never sound like an actual year like that is so fake. But true. I’m starting this post on the 15th and I so far have not bought a fast fashion item and the majority of purchases period have been ethical which is so great and I hope it lasts. That is a long way of me saying there are things here but not a mass quantity, a healthy amount. It was a good month, kind of long but I did have a whole week in the middle of it where I didn’t go to work and I spent the majority of that month sitting in my room. Still had a great time. This is such a long intro, let’s get into the faves. Continue reading “my january 2023 favourites”

i still need new, great quality jewellery so i scrolled through en route’s whole website and here are the pieces i like most

En Route is another case of ‘I thought it was so expensive until I actually went on the website and it’s pretty reasonable’ and cute like so so cute. Very much my thing, lots of pieces I love. And the Christmas sale was good so I did buy some things (prices (in pound sterling) here are full because the sale will probably be over when this is up). an introduction to Holocaust literature: book recommendations

Now more than ever recognising Holocaust Memorial Day is so important. Anti-Semitism is on the rise and there are pretty prominent figures publicly denying that it ever happened. There are obviously a lot of forms of Jewish media that should be celebrated now and always but as a book girl I am going to share some Holocaust books I’ve read and greatly enjoyed. Please take time right now to engage with a novel that focuses on someone affected by the atrocity and do what you can to make sure nothing like it happens again and that Jewish people can feel seen. Title taken from my Black American literature post but I don’t like it much. Please think of it as a general good starting point and not an assumption that you’ve never read any Holocaust literature before (or if the only thing you know is The B0y in the Striped Pyjamas which is actually blacklisted by the Auschwitz Museum and other Holocaust memorial organisations). Only including the best of the Holocaust novels I’ve read and so if there are some notable omissions I have not gotten to them yet. i really need to get my masters: “it’s immortality my darlings” representations of immortal children

After getting my BA in English and American literature in 2021 I have stewed with the idea of getting my masters too. Even making an attempt at doing so until I dropped out after a little over a month. I miss using the analytical part of my brain and I’m fully trained to do something that I am simply not doing. Not to mention I enjoy essay planning and comparisons and reading literary analysis a lot. So I am going to be writing essay plans for here, as a way to get that part of my brain engaged again and to share something I love doing. They are going to be on a lot of different topics, some smarter than others I’d wager but all within the English and American Literature sphere as that is what I know. listening to 10 albums i’ve seen people on the internet rave about

This title is so rambly but truly how else can I say it. When it comes to music, I usually see people talk about people and albums and ignore them. This post is me pulling 10 albums or artists I’ve seen mentioned online (and wouldn’t know exist otherwise) and listening to them. It’s that simple. I started this post so so long ago like in June. Very happy it’s now seeing the light of day. Continue reading “listening to 10 albums i’ve seen people on the internet rave about”
