my august 2023 playlist

Albums are coming out again. Like really good albums too we’ve had some absolute gems be released this month and it makes me so happy. I’m doing this early, missing the last new release Friday of the month but that does not mean it’s going to be a short one. Continue reading “my august 2023 playlist”

tiktok accounts i’ve found and really like recently

Every couple of months I like to share my favourite Tiktok accounts at that moment. More so than any other social media I really follow and unfollow a ton on there. If an account starts boring me, it’s gone. I don’t think I’ve ever followed more than 150 people on there which is not a lot compared to the amount of time I spend on that app. Here are my favourite accounts right now and a selection of videos from them. a late summer depop wishlist

Another one. I am once again, trying my hardest to be ethical with my clothing purchases. Which in my continued era of solitude means Depop. I still do not love the Vinted app unfortunately. This is the first post with pictures that I have written with the new way of editing. The classic format once again let me down. So the colours are going to be off but I regret to admit that I didn’t hate writing this and so I may figure out permanent new colours to use and now be a block editing girly. An idea that acutally really pains me.

another round of musical theatre songs i love

There is variety in one of these again. I have been biting at the nail to do my next and I wanted to wait until I had a couple new musicals under my belt, rather than just adding different songs from musicals I’ve included before. I really did that here, there are like 4 new musicals out of 10 so pretty good. I love theatre. Continue reading “another round of musical theatre songs i love”

i spent a week in cornwall for boardmasters and this is what i did (a festival recap)

The organisation I work for works with British festivals. They provide volunteers in order for the volunteers to go to the festivals for free and to canvas for donations. So I signed up for two festivals this August. Boardmasters was the first. It’s a music and surfing festival in Newquay, Cornwall. In return for 3 8 hour shifts I got to go for free, have pretty full reign of the festival site, see Cornwall a little and have a great time. I have been around a lot of the UK but this was my first time in Cornwall. I couldn’t see a lot of it, but I saw enough to know I like it, and that it’s very pretty. Here is a summary of my week, the artists I saw and the work I did. Continue reading “i spent a week in cornwall for boardmasters and this is what i did (a festival recap)”

purple books i’ve read recently (colour coded reads) (part 2)

The difference in vibes between this and the first one is insane. First of all, I kept the majority of these. I kept like 3 in the last one. And then these are the books I actually enjoy reading. Lots of gay people but also like interesting plots and ideas. Not sure why I saved these for last but I did. I actually only own 3 purple paperbacks now so this purple era was a resounding success. my favourite runway looks by anna sui (since fall 2015)

I think that Anna Sui is one of the best designers right now. Her work post Covid has been revolutionary, visionary. And so representative of trends years before they are reflected in what people are wearing. Definitely a designer that you should be paying attention to. Here are my favourite looks in her collections from her most recent Fall collection, to her fall collection in 2015. Continue reading “my favourite runway looks by anna sui (since fall 2015)”

my 10 favourite the vampire diaries characters

I’ve thought about it a lot, and I’ve seen how other people are handling it. And I have decided that during the Writers and Actors Strikes I am happy to talk about old tv and film. But I will not talk about anything that is still airing or being released during the strikes. That seems to be how most people are still talking about tv and film without crossing the digital picket and it feels comfortable for me. I will probably say a shortened version of that every time. Getting onto the post; I am in a TVDU phase and have been rewatching (or watching) all the shows. As I do, I want to make posts about it and I think doing character posts is a good place to start. There are a lot of characters in The Vampire Diaries, not all good or useful so I just want to talk about the best of the best. In my opinion and no particular order. The editor is not letting me do pictures on classic editor so enjoy videos instead. Funny montages will be used when possible or favoured scenes when not.
