a recap of my slam dunk 2023

I recently went to my second Slam Dunk. The line-up felt like a total dream and my family is big on Slam Dunk so we had to. Logistical issues aside (Slam Dunk sort out your parking situation and think about queues for things in the layout), I had a great day and I saw some incredible people. Here are the people I saw from first to last. I have a little whine first of all, but like so short then I get into the music.

my may 2023 playlist

I did not think this would be a long post, but I am looking at the Spotify playlist I will pull these songs from and it’s going to be long. Truly I cannot even tell you what I’ve listened to this month at all, but here are some new releases and random songs that I was drawn to this month. Continue reading “my may 2023 playlist”

more tiktokers that i really like right now (may 2023)

I think I’ve been doing this post a lot recently, but I’ve also been spending a lot of time on Tiktok so it balances out. If I follow an account and keep following them for like a week it’s honestly a win. Here are a bunch of accounts that I have found recently and that I really like and still really like. Some are fashion related, a lot are just people living their lives and documenting it, which I have been seriously LOVING recently. fully immersed in my musicals era, here are some more musical theatre songs

I love musicals. I love them. They make me so happy, these songs make me so happy. This is not the longest of these I’ve done, but these posts are pretty collective and very easily could get soooo long. Idk, I’m trying to include more videos because I’ve been watching those more recently which is very fun. Even if it’s just from the Tony’s or something. i spent a week with my parents in nottinghamshire and this is what i did

I intended to go to university in Nottingham and so went to the city a few times with the intention of it being a place I would live for a while. So when I didn’t go there I didn’t want to go back for a while. Now I am a few years past it, it’s about time to go back and so I asked my parents to look for a cottage in the area for a week (there were other reasons to go there too but none that make as good a story). I documented my week as well as I could and so this is what we did. The weather was a blessing, I am liking these early summers. looks from past met galas that should get more attention

The pre and post Met Gala ‘content’ this year drove me absolutely insane. The internet harps on about things people have worn at past Galas but they give absolutely zero attention to any event before 2015. This post is going to be exclusively from before 2010. I literally am just going to dump a load of outfits that I love most and that deserve far more attention than is given to the same 20 outfits from 2017-2019. a short lime crime wishlist

I think I’m going to cave and dye my hair. It’s been a while (since last February) since I last dyed it and I’m going a bit mad now. Lime Crime has the best hairdye ever in my opinion and I’ve seen now that they have a ‘tint’ product that I hope is like a gloss and I really want to try it. So I have the one of those I want plus a few extra bits that I do not need but also would really like. It’s a short little one, I haven’t been in a massive beauty mood as of late but I have a slight need for some things. Lime Crime is a top 3 beauty brand for me. Really top 2. my 10 favourite songs in the eurovision 2023 grand final

I love Eurovision. I watched my first one in 2006 and I have been hooked ever since. It’s fun, ostentatious, with good (most of the time) music, what’s not to like? I have also realised in recent years that it was my first exposure to a wider queer culture which is so so special. I don’t really listen to the songs beforehand, so the grand final is when I see it all and hear the songs for the first time. I thought that picking 10 songs from this year for this post would be hard because I’d want to choose more, but actually it was more hard because I wasn’t mad about the songs this time around. But I did scrounge 10 of them together, and I even voted for over half of them so I will say which those are (with a *). This is in no order, but I think it’s safe to say that the ones I liked most were the one I called for. I was really rooting for Finland to win, they were so close.
