my april 2023 favourites

I love April I’ve realised. I feel different this month, better and happier. Like lifted somehow and I like it a lot. The sun is out, the weather is improving it’s a good time. May it last, I’m writing this on the 8th and if there has been snow in the 20 days since I may scream (there has been no snow, much rain though). Anyway, I have a good amount of things here, the rejuvenation has meant that I’m trying new things or old things again and so there should be a good batch of items here. yellow books i’ve read recently (colour coded reads)

I planned out all my colours for this thing I’m done (I’m that anal) but then I bought books while out and had to read one of them, the yellow one I had on me sounded really good so I started it and then I had to do another yellow batch. Truly not that deep but I did not love yellow the first time around so I don’t know why I elected to do it again. I I have kept 4 out of 10. I quite like that ratio. I truly don’t know what else to say, here are the books. Continue reading “yellow books i’ve read recently (colour coded reads)”

random podcast episodes i enjoyed (interviews of people i already liked on podcasts i don’t listen to normally)

My introduction to podcasts was by one off episodes from random ones, usually that had special guests that I really liked on a pod hosted by someone I wasn’t really interested in. While I now listen to full podcasts and multiple episodes, I do still watch the occasional standalone so to speak. Here are about 12-ish of those, with short descriptions of content. Mostly Spotify links, as that’s what I use but I will throw in a few Youtube pods too. spring 2023 empties

I may be saying this prematurely, but I have not been finishing too many products recently. So it’s been a while for me since I last did one of these. Which is very lucky, in the times where I’m finishing a load of items at once my bank account takes a hit and that is not fun. These are mostly steady finishes and things I’ve had for a while that it’s time I ran out of. Thank god. I was watching Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice when I wrote this which may explain my tone. more soundtracks i’m obsessed with

I have taken a long break from doing these posts, I was doing them like monthly, it was a lot. But it’s been like 6 months if not more and my list of soundtracks is quite long, it’s time for me to do another. One of the main things I notice in watching anything is the soundtrack, and a good soundtrack can really make or break a show or film. These are damn good ones. white books i’ve read recently (colour coded reads)

Back round to white again. I had two white stacks on my floor which has now been narrowed to a tall white tower. Which is good because one of the stacks was in the way of my wardrobe and becoming damn annoying. This is a mixed lot, lots of genre and format mixing here, which is good. Broadening my horizons and what not. Continue reading “white books i’ve read recently (colour coded reads)”

some things i’ve recently had for lunch at work // vegetarian lunches

This is a super quick one. I eat a lot of the same things and don’t want to repeat myself a ton. So here is just 5 things that I don’t believe I’ve shared ever (one I don’t think recently). I wanted to do this kind of post now, I feel like it will be like 5 months before I have a good amount of lunches that aren’t repeating. All vegetarian, all made the night before, all super easy. my 20 favourite poppy songs

I am slowly running out of people to do this post for, which is a shame because I really like doing these. And I really love Poppy. She can do everything and it’s always absolute perfection. There is no one with her range and ability to master every kind of sound. I am only including music from her Poppy era (Am I A Girl era onwards) which is more than the music that she recognises anyway. I did this without too much thought because if I thought too much about it, I simply would not have finished it. If I did this tomorrow my choices would probably be different.
