current girl crushes

I’ve done a few posts about women over time that have done amazing things and whom I admire, and then I pretty regularly do posts on fashionable gals. I’ll take any chance I get to raise female positivity and create any sort of empowerment. This post is in celebration of the gals whom I admire and think are cool who maybe aren’t changing the political sphere or heading any sort of cause. But are just killing their game and living their best lives (and who haven’t been mentioned or given their own posts yet). They’re inspiring in a more practical sense and are just good gals. This is a pretty short post, but I wasn’t going to add women for the sake of it. Continue reading “current girl crushes”

mcm: harry styles

I do the wcw series pretty frequently, and it’s about time I do a male equivalent since I do post on mondays occasionally now. I’ve done a post on male figures before and included him, but I think Harry Styles is the perfect start to this sub-series. This is practically a compilation of Harry in various suits. He’s pretty much the perfect male figure in 2019. We need more men like Harry Styles.

50 of my favourite ‘off duty’ / ‘candid’ looks //casual outfit inspo

When this idea came to me I knew I had to do it asap. I considered making it a ‘steal her style’ type thing but there are people who are far better at that who have probably already found every piece. I was very strict about the ladies being featured here being celebrities and the photos are legitimate paparazzi images. No Instagram models here. I had to increase this form 20 to 50 because Bella Hadid had too many outfits I loved (and then I found a load of Elsa looks and nearly increased it again). a trip to bishop’s palace gardens: a photo-series // plants and flowers

So my sister and I went to Bishop’s Palace Gardens to take pictures for her Etsy store and I ended up taking A LOT of pictures. They’re mainly pink plants (because it’s me) but I loved these pictures too much to just delete them without saving them anywhere. So yeah they’re all basically of the same plants, but I love all of these pictures. It’s also been a minute since I’ve done a photography post (at least one that wasn’t scheduled). uni talk: important things i did and didn’t consider when picking my uni / before freshers week

I know that by now those in their second year of uni have already accepted their offers and what not. But clearing is still something to be considered so this post isn’t totally useless. When picking my uni I made some very smart decisions and some pretty stupid mistakes. Again, I don’t regret my decision, but there are things I probably should have thought about that I didn’t. So you know before I get into all this, I study English and American Literature and Manchester Metropolitan. It’s single honours, but there are different compulsory modules to regular English. A lot of this is speaking from experience and so insurance choices and loans are mentioned, because that’s my university experience. clothing pieces i can’t pull off // online shopping for things i’d never buy

There’s a lot of things I see while I’m shopping that I’ll just never be able to wear. They might look weird on me because it’s just so out of my style, or because I just don’t have the attitude to make it look convincing as a piece. It could be anything. I tried to pick things that I genuinely think look good, but I just can’t wear. SO I’m not calling any of this ugly or anything, I just can’t wear it. This may be a really weird post, but I don’t know I thought it would be fun. Continue reading “clothing pieces i can’t pull off // online shopping for things i’d never buy”

july moodboard // summer19 inspo

I love making these posts and I feel inspired when I do, but I’m not sure if I do these too often and I don’t want my blog to be flooded with moodboards like this that are unthemed/too general. At one point I planned on doing them every over month, but I think seasonally is good. Also this is a summer inspo moodboard in terms of style, not about getting into the summer spirit like another I did. This is also sooo long wow. Continue reading “july moodboard // summer19 inspo”

summer watching list // some of the shows i’m watching this summer

I do this kind of post with the books I’m reading every couple of months or so and I thought it would be really fun to do the same kind of thing with shows. I get through shows sooo much quicker than I watch movies or read books and right now I have a looooot of time on my hands so I’ve been getting through shows super quickly. I am trying to only mention the shows I really love in my monthly favourites and so I get through more than you can normally see. These are the shows I’m planning on watching over the next few months. Continue reading “summer watching list // some of the shows i’m watching this summer”

let’s talk: my self worth and its relation to academic achievement // a results day cautionary tale

This post has been in the works since August. It’s a topic that I think about a lot. My brain drifts to this several times a week. Constantly fretting about something I can’t really change. I mean I can, but there’s no point. With exams just finishing for some, and results day looming, I’ve found the right voice for this post and topic. Before I start I want to say that I’m happy with how my life’s turned out right now, while there are times I haven’t been I’ve come to terms with it and embraced the path I’m on. The circumstances I’ve found myself in post my own results day have positively changed how I see things. I mean no ill thought. This is also very rambly and melodramatic I’m sorry.
